  • An ASC is a modern healthcare facility focused on providing same-day surgical care, including diagnostic and preventive procedures. At Southpark Heart & Vascular Center, we perform advanced cardiovascular procedures in a safe, comfortable, and efficient outpatient setting — so most patients return home the same day.

  • We specialize in a wide range of cardiovascular procedures, including:

    • Cardiac catheterizations and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI/stenting)

    • Peripheral artery disease (PAD) procedures such as arterial stenting and venous ablations

    • Electrophysiology (EP) procedures including pacemaker, ICD, and loop recorder implants, as well as cardiac ablations

    Your cardiologist will discuss which procedure is right for you and explain what to expect.

  • In most cases, yes — we accept many major insurance plans. Our team will verify your insurance benefits beforehand and explain any out-of-pocket costs. If you have questions about coverage, just give us a call.

  • Our care team will give you detailed instructions before your appointment. Generally, you’ll:

    • Arrive at the center a little early to check in

    • Meet your nursing and procedural team

    • Have your procedure in a state-of-the-art suite

    • Spend some time in recovery under our team’s care before going home the same day

    Please arrange for someone to drive you home after your procedure.

  • All procedures are performed by board-certified cardiovascular specialists with extensive experience in interventional cardiology and electrophysiology. Our physicians are also owners of the center, ensuring a strong focus on quality and patient care.

  • ASCs are designed for patients who don’t require overnight hospital stays. You receive focused, specialized care in a smaller, more convenient setting — often with lower costs and shorter wait times compared to a hospital.

  • Yes. We maintain accreditation and follow strict standards for patient safety, infection control, and quality outcomes. Your well-being is our top priority.

  • We are conveniently located at 445 Charles H Dimmock Pkwy, Suite 102, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Parking is free and right outside our front door. If you have questions about directions, feel free to call our office.

  • Please bring:

    • A valid photo ID

    • Your insurance card(s)

    • A list of current medications

    • Any paperwork your doctor asked you to complete

    We also recommend wearing comfortable clothing and leaving valuables at home.

  • Your care team will provide specific instructions based on your procedure. Common guidelines include:

    • No eating or drinking after midnight before your procedure

    • Taking or stopping certain medications as directed

    • Arranging for a responsible adult to drive you home
